Second one in two years. I knew there was a fair bit of doing involved.
BTW, before that, I took the front off the killer bike. The timing belts were perfectly in place. Made me feel a lot better about tackling the second one.

Today I greased & put the base gasket & cylinders on the bike. I was surprised by how easily they went on. I put the center pistons on first and then the outside. Once they were installed I used loctite on the base gasket. Then I put the head on and tightened down the center and outside head bolts to bring everything together. I was pretty proud of myself until I turned to the bench and saw this... (last photo)

Remind me to sneak an extra bearing into his parts tray when he's not looking.

I'm sure I'd find a spot for it!

Grease om the bottom and loctite 515 (gasket seal) on the top. The gasket is easier to come off the bottom when doing any case work.

My wild guess is there should be at least two pistons supported, so everything does not dance around as you push the jugs down.
I always did two pistons at a time..
Another thing that helps, buy a Popsicle before you start...keep the sticks, they will be handy..

look at the sides and you will see the factory tools holding the pistons, the "forks" slide in from each side and hold 2 pistons each, very clever
