Weekend project; put a new carcass on the Zundapp seat frame, now making a new pivot bracket and pin, an acquaintance from Poland sent me a sketch for the bracket.

Thinking of maybe pulling the battery out of the 754.. But then again -12 should not hurt a good charged battery....I hope..
It a Yuasa bought from Murray at the ViV swapmeet...

I'm sure it won't hurt to let it freeze...

But let it thaw slowly.

Made a seat pivot pin (bolt) and part of the pivot bracket. The one photograph is what the finished bracket should look like, might finish this weekend. Not very exciting but it is progress.

Some pics of the Norton Combat barrels (+ 0.020 bore and new pistons) and heads we just got back from Alec's automotive. Decided since I had an extra set of barrels and head I would have it all done together (cheaper too). Going to be nice.
New valves, seats and guides in one with new valves and guides in the other

Picked up the collector plate for the XL250....3 1/2 weeks for this go-around.
Spent the past few days spare time sorting through the operational bits of the XL......cleaned the hidden grunge from front and rear brakes, installed the new chain and sprockets (rear is now a 42 instead of factory 48, should be more relaxed getting to the dirt roads), tried hanging and oil-dribbling the throttle cables, still stiff, so ordered new ones, as well as a new throttle barrel and choke cable (both work, but stiff, cracked, 40 years old).
Naturally, subjected all removed fasteners to either replacement or brass wire wheel treatment, in keeping with the 20-foot cosmetic requirements. This bike might make it to ten-foot status, at this rate. Remember, still original, except for the bits I'm replacing to make everything work as good as they look.
People keep phoning for work-stuff, just as I get almost finished one little portion, but not quite.......leave it for tomorrow....

a few more parts went on the H1 tonight...thought I needed to have a pic of the inner cylinder head before the outers go on just so no one asks if the sides were polished for no reason

Time to clean the carbs, the throttle slides are sticking due to lack of use. Putting the rack on the engine is lots of fun - not.
