Synch gauges showed up yesterday for my carbs.  Let's see if I can get rid of that backfire on the B4!

Riding the LeMans home from work today..

My turn signals stopped working and the headlight fell out of the bucket!

Somewhere along the line the bike has lost it's clip-on bars. No doubt changed out by a clear-headed person who wanted to be able to ride it for more than 30 minutes at a go.

It sports a Rizoma superbike bar now and is comfortable enough. The only downside is that the headlight and fairing flopped around a fair bit because the ears were now too short to be clamped properly by the trees. I think this shaking led to the headlamp rattling loose and probably jiggling some of the dodgy wiring and causing it to blow the turn signal fuse.

I found a pair of headlight ears from a 1000 Convert that fit just perfectly and are held tight. I swapped everything over and tightened up the clips inside the headlight bucket.

I checked the wiring and found nothing chafed or damaged, changed the fuse and checked, turn signals are working now, still working after moving the bars around. Great, intermittant electrical problems are fun. Good thing I've got a new harness to swap in over the winter.

I also changed out the shift linkage for a new double heim joint affair from The Guzzi Doctor.

Took "Old Blue" for a 13 km test run yesterday, between rain showers (CURSES) to see if the electric fix I did actually FIXED anything.  So far so good, everything was still working when I got home just ahead of another rain squall.  I hate having to clean the bike after a rain ride.  Today I substituted the stock seat for my Corbin to give me an additional inch of leg room.  My right knee has been bothering me, so the taller seat may help for longer rides.  I originally installed the Corbin when I lived on the coast and did a lot of in-town riding and the lower seat worked better.  Now, I don't do much in-town stuff as within 10-15 minutes I'm out of the urban sprawl and on the open highways.  YEE-HAW !

With the assistance off Moto Lobo we freed up the seized brake calipers on Project Z1R  today.   They didnt look too bad and should be fairly easy to rebuild and reinstall at a later date.  Looks like the winter project has started.

Okay spent a very late night early morning determined to finish off the Norton.   What started as a broken spoke on the rear wheel turned out to be a big project lasting from April until this morning.
The fall season is meant for British Bikes as they feel at home.   Here are the results.
