Chris, last insured in 1988!! yes I would say it is a patient bike. Not sure how patient the new owner is though? I have a feeling you are going to be the poster boy for Victoria Plating with this one for the next little while.
Looks like lots of fun, I will come out and supervise next time I am in Mission.

This is either the disassembly process or one hell of an obstacle course to get to the washing machine...

Thanks to the tremendous skill and willingness of Doctor Virago while brazing and engaging in hyena like hysterical laughter while listening to 70's music and performing random interpretive dance in a smoke filled shop, I have a new fuel gauge.
Thank You Bradley.
I am truly obliged.

I walked by my bikes today on the way out the door to buy this:
It's a Suzuki Canada GSX-R jacket, circa 1993. Guy selling it bought it new when he had the bike to match but only wore it once as he felt uncomfortably flamboyant riding in it. Stored in his closet ever since. I thought it was too awesome to pass up and looks fantastic with the new-in-box 1990's Bieffe helmet I picked up during the summer last year.
Now all I need is the matching bike... anyone have one of these to donate to the cause?

Starting to look completely different Allan, really good, what color paint and are you leaving the front fender chrome? I think the only thing out of place might be the chrome chain guard when you're done...

I'm rebuilding the top end of my 1000G, again.
Painted up the top and base the other day, VHT caliper paint and put them in the barby for an hour. Worked great and they look fantastic.
Today I lapped the valves, put in the new seals and buttoned the top all up ready for install.
Trying to work indoors this week though, -8 with the wind chill..eeks

Nice lookin' Fins clean and sparkly . . . bet you can't wait til your Fin-ished . . . Ha ha
Well I started late today and ran out ov sand paper . . .
but I am getting my Tractor seat up to LUSTER . . . to equal the tank . . .
so I got the welds faired out . . . last season it was a throw together affair,
and a small amount ov hand-sanding . . . as it is mostly concave surface, the only thing I have on hand that will work . . . is . . . my hands. Ha
so in the morn will do a lordco run for wet paper 80gr, 120gr, 320gr, 600gr, 1000gr, 1500gr.
Should do the trick.
