Moved my 76 KZ900 to a more accessible spot in the garage and began prepping it for sale.  It should be in craiogslist by the weekend, a week at the latest.

Nice score Magpie, at $50 you should have enough there to finish one correctly. Little tiddlers are so much fun.

Thanks Frank! I have part of another one too so a good red one should be the end result. Little Hondas should be red.  Cliff.

I agree, Red is the colour. I have a C200 Sport Touring in pieces now and will start painting soon I hope. I will post pictures when I get the project started.

   Hi Ross,
Why are you selling the bike?

Steve,

Since I got the 73 Z1 that I am building, it has always been my plan to sell my KZ900 and KZ1000, once it is finished and sorted out.  The Z1 has reached a milestone, and it is now time to begin thinning the herd.  My machinist friend came around this evening, and took away the Z1 cylinders and head for boring, valve seats, and head shave.

The $ I get from the sale of the KZ900, and eventually the KZ1000, will go back into the account.  Then I'll begin looking for a dual sport bike for touring.

That's a long winded way of saying that I really don't need three bikes that are essentially the same.  I'd love to keep them all.  They represent the evolution of Kawasaki KZs, and to have all three in one spot is pretty cool.  But the $ will allow me to keep one classic and obtain a more suitable bike for touring.

Cheers,
Ross

Bill,

Talk is cheap, my bike is not.  The bike is what it is.  No point in pointing out it's flaws, I know them all.  And the price is the price.  First guy with 30 new $100 dollar bills takes her away.

I'll try to get you some pics tomorrow night,

Cheers,
Ross

Yesterday I bead blasted my Z1 cases, jugs, head, and valve cover in preparation for machining and painting.

Today I rode the KZ1000 to our regular Sunday morning coffee.  After coffee, Nico came over to my place with his oxy acetylene gear and we straightened the centre stand that got bent when my KZ1000 went down last August.

This evening my friend Mark came over and took away the Z1 jugs and head for machining.

I agree totally Ross. My garage suffers from duplication, but one is my brother's old Norton so I'll keep that regardless. And, even though they've been trying for years, there really is no such thing as 1 bike that does everything excellent. So I applaude your idea to get different types of bikes.
