Since around 1969 guys have been cutting out the lower rails on Cb750,s  to allow access to the top end... without having to pull the engine out of the frame.
 Some guys leave them out completely some reinstall them. The first way they did that was to  have sliding tubes over the joints  then drill thru the sides of both tubes, and bolt them together . Not completely rigid.
  Then eventually someone came up with a weld in kit, with solid elements that were milled 1/2  way off for an inch and a half, then bolted together, better solution, and similar to what Honda, maybe Kawi and others use to allow sections of frames to be removed.
 Several versions of that idea and I made about 4 sets at one time, for the SOHC Forum guys. Then the guy that used to make them started again.
 That version had a threaded element to it that I felt lacked rigidity.  And it was very heavy  around 4 lbs plus, and needed a welder or welding.
Not good adding weight to HiPo bikes.
And then it was hard to put it back to stock if so desired.
  So around 2014 I came up with a better idea, lighter too.
 Single cuts to the tubes,  so easy to reverse if needed. The collars were aluminum alloy with 4 allen heads  for each cut section. They clamp like a triple tree. The upper brace has an aluminum connector strap  far lighter than the steel others used. And tapped so you didn't drop washers and nuts into your carb bank.
 So it can be installed in a  hour, and removed in 3 minutes or less, and weighs around a pound.
I sold quite a few to at least 7 countries  all thru the forum, and built them till last year. Then I no longer had enough machinery set up, to keep producing them. SO I got a buddy in Arizona to make them for a while,  still is making them and selling them.
  Anyway that is what goes in the hole in the frame, it works well.

I don't think they could work , my system the piece has to drop down or come out the side.
Plus building it myself provided me with a sorely needed income.. ... something I could really use this year..

Having done it many times, removing a 750 motor is not that tough or time consuming. It is a heavy lump though. I would think cutting up your frame etc. takes longer.

 I can't lift like before.  Lower end came out ok.
 My removeable top part takes  3 minutes or less to remove.
 Now I have a few snags. Carb rubbers  late intakes 2 mm bigger . Chain is out of line 10mm.
 I thinking can only bump it over about  6.5 mm ..1/4 inch.  Rear case breather us goingbto be fun too, bigger snout. .

When you convert the 630 chain engine sprocket to 530 chain does that not correct the chain alignment. Those conversions were readily available at one time. Can you machine your engine sprocket to get the correct alignment? Or add a spacer.

 I got it In the frame.
I have F rubbers, not sure they work but should.
 I don't have any oil filters .
 Rear sprocket has to move out 10 mm idealy. I will try to  back the sprocket studs out, use spacers...and maybe  mill 1/8 off outer face of rear sprocket to get enough nut engagement.
 Then dick with the rear breather hose, it is the size of the cam cover hose barb, the old ones and the tank  are about 1/4 inch.

I probably could, but not on my small lathe.. I had a bad experience ripping the splines out of  a thinner than stock front sprocket, had to pull motor split cases to change shaft.
 If I can get the rear studs to move,  it will work i have plenty clearance to the shocks I am running..
  Wurst case scenario, I run it a while as is.. in 81 orb82 I put avaiL in an early frame,  ran it crooked for maybe a season then moticed.

Anybody got an oil filter.. is it true Canuck Tire has them ?

Canadian tire use to but i’m sure any Honda  shop has them in stock. Get off your wallet. Filters are cheap.

 I knew I should not have BID on that  Performance Machine 5.5 x18 Mitchell spun wheel,  with PM rotor.. .. but hey it was the price of a set of spokes......       not to mention the Ceriani GP  fork               But I was not expecting  to lunch my motor.

Anybody got an oil filter.. is it true Canuck Tire has them ?

The last time I checked, the CT's around here didn't have them (Jefft is right- they used to have them) - maybe it's just the stores in my neighbourhood don't have them??  Worth checking your local CT.

Some times, particularly if it’s a Fram, if you know the filer #, they’ll get it in for you even if it’s not normally on the shelf.
