Like Henry says...only 5 months.  That's 20 or so weeks, 20 weekends.  It'll be here before you know it.
And in the meantime, you get to build the GS1000S you just got and spend time on the rest of your bikes.
Not a bad deal, I'd say.  We're lucky to have theses opportunities. Smiley

You are right....but I won't be taking any down time from riding....the Cooley should be ready to ride this week and it will be plated right away...all 5 bikes are insured all year. Gotta love the Island! Grin

You guys hibernate in the winter? It doesn't even get cold there....

Note to self: Invest in some heated gear.

If you're in Nebraska and the wind stops or you see a tree, pull over immediately and take a nap. You're having road hallucinations.

Current bike:

2010 Kawasaki KLR650
1979 Honda CM185T Twinstar and the first BCCMC bike of the month!!!

Welcome to the land of the flat.... well, as flat as Calgary gets...

Year round riding on the Island sounds quite fine but I'm good with what I have in the interior.  It's all good wherever one rides. Grin  Safe riding.

This year was my earliest start ever since moving to the interior.  On the road Feb. 20 th.  Last rides coming up Nov. 1 and 2 nd on the two machines left insured.  One year I had insurance until Dec. 4, and had a nice sunny 10 degree day on Dec. 2, so took advantage of it.  Hope to get down for the big Bike Show in late January.

This sounds close to how it is alright. Depending on the year. 3 1/2 to 4 months is about it. My complaint level is stuck at zero. Cool

October was a weird. Never mind the fact that the usually soggy island got almost triple the usual amount of rain, there are always those sunny days when you are glad to be on the bike, but I watched the last of those tick by while battling some version of the man cold flu galloping crud which sapped what little enthusiasm I had for riding the same old roads for the bazillionth time. But am I bitter, well, yes of course I am. Will I miss riding for a few months, yes a bit. Does the hamster miss the wheel? I can look back on some epic rides this year, the view from Baker, the sweeping corners of Hwy 20, riding with my brother, rides here with Tom.

Not just the Island that had lots of rain. Sure kept the fire season under control for this year.

I was on the road by 2nd or 3rd of March.... Was not many bikes on the road back then.
Sorta nippy had many rides to south end of town where the breeze is always coming off the lake at 4degrees, even when it was 10 or 11 out.
But its only a 5 mile stretch.. Had many fun rides to northern Washington...usually midweek.. When traffic is really light.. Good part about being a bit older..

I agree, the fun part of being older is riding when others can't. No more working all week in the sun only to have the weather take a dump on your weekend.
