Your decompressor cable is coming in at a less than ideal angle, going to wear the cable prematurely.
 Keep in mind where the cable end is now comes out even further from its pivot than its present location.

Huh?  I didn't quite get what you were referring to but everything is pretty well predetermined by the factory, there's no adjustment to the angle of the cable. And it pretty well has to come in at the angle it's at so it will work properly.

Didn't do anything with the bike, but I have been building a light trailer. Just have to wire it, install a safety chain and paint.

Very nice looking Mark, where did the axle come from?  Is it going to have the ability to put 2 bikes on it or just the 1?  man, to have the shop space and tools.... Embarrassed

Just one bike. I got the axle from Princess auto. It's the smallest/narrowest one they sell.It comes on sale once in a while for around 100$

My lucky day. Went to kick the ol' DR over in the shed and one of the oil cooler lines blows a hole  Shocked  man, if I had been out riding lord only knows where that could have happened. Even the 2nd line was well on it's way to going, happened to have some spares on hand (see hoarding is a good thing) in good shape so they'll do the trick till new ones arrive.

Ah, Rob's quite a MacGuyvery kind of guy. I suspect that if it blew out in the boonies he would have taken some sap from the nearest tree and plugged it up so he could get home. Grin

Replaced the valve seals on my 78' 1000 without taking the head off today.

For putting the keepers back in and for pulling out the old valve seals. Another can't do without tool...

For taking out the keepers, and for fishing out the old valve seals that flip thru the air as you swear like a trucker trying to get them out and then they fall down the cam chain channel to the bowels of the engine..........VERY good tool to have indeed

The LeMans is back on two wheels with most of the bodywork refitted.

Just have to finish up some small electrical stuff and it will be ready to fire.

Feels good to be making progress again.

Well the '81 1100e is coming along. So far, I have fixed the circuit boards for the check panel, swapped out the carbs from 33mm smoothbores to 36mm CVs, swapped out the supertrapp exhaust for a Yoshimura system and installed new tires and wheel bearings. Now I just have to finish off the paint, decals and clear coat and put her on the road for final tuning. I'm really looking forward to feeling her strength.

Accidentally came home with an '86 Concours. Had some mechanical issues. Luckily, I have a spare parts Concours with everything she needed. Just waiting for some windscreen bolts and its time to hit the road for some more final tuning.



My brother really seems to like it. Looks like she'll need a good bath too.

Received a nice package from my cousin in Calgary last week. Racetech shock for the 1150 and he threw in a set of carb tuning gauges because he thought I could use them more than him. Champion!!
