This week in 1976, the Elvin Bishop single “Fooled Around and Fell in Love” debuted on the UK Singles Chart at #50 (May 9)

Despite the fact that this is an Elvin Bishop single, he didn’t sing it.

He didn’t think his voice would suit the song, so he asked Mickey Thomas who was his backup singer to sing it instead.

Bishop recalled:

“I tried singing it, and I said, 'That's not buttering my biscuit, my vocal on this. Why don't we give Mickey a shot at this?'
And the producer said, 'Well, that's big of you.' And I said, 'Well, I don't think so. It's just common sense, you know?'
And Mickey just tore it up."

It went on to become a hit, going to #3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and in New Zealand, #16 in Australia, #22 in Canada, and #34 in the UK.

Based on his work with Bishop, Mickey Thomas was invited to become the lead singer for Jefferson Starship (who would later evolve into simply Starship), and went on to sing on mega hits like “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now”, "We Built This City" and "Sara".

Here’s a live uncut gig of the hit, of course,  on the Midnight Special. Program originator Burt Sugarman dictated no lip sinking, live uncut  only.

I saved the photos to my desktop computer then open one photo (default Microsoft viewer) when the photo is open there is a menu at the top of the page click on the see more option (which is three dots ...)
The menu under the see more option includes resize image and I change size percentage from 100% to 50% then reduce the quality down until the size of the image is 250KB or under then resave that photo.
This seems to work and I am able to save 3 images per post.

Do you email each picture to yourself, then open the email with your desktop?

Once again Marc Márquez shows what an amazing rider he is.  I just watched yesterday’s French MotoGP.  Starting 13th, Marc finished 2nd.  A brilliant ride on a year old bike.  He has signed a one year contract with the team he’s on.  Rumour has it, for next year he may move to the factory Ducati team, or he may ride a factory sponsored Ducati on his current team.

For 2026, apparently there will be some MotoGP rule changes.  The bikes are getting too fast for the tracks.  And because of geography and other factors it isn’t feasible to change the tracks to support the speeds.  So rumour has it that displacement will drop to 850 cc’s.  Also they’ll likely eliminate the ride height variability and launch control.

A family member of mine , with a recent health scare, has decided to curtail his riding after recent purchase of this machine. Extended to full 3 yr unlimited mileage warranty after warranty work that took 3.5 months for parts. Many extras and factory options.
