Title: Seat hinge
Post by: Galactica on September 28, 2023, 12:46:17 PM
Somehow I’ve managed to lose a seat hinge for my ‘75 CB750.  The seat pan was so rusted at the front hinge, that it fell off.  It’s gotta be here somewhere, but I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find it. A new aftermarket seat arrived today and I’d sure like to install it.  Would anyone happen to have one?

Thanks,
Ross

Here’s how it looks.  All I need is a hinge.

Excellent photos, Ross. I'll see if I can make one up for you tomorrow.

Wow, that’s a great offer.  Bear in mind, the mm graduations on the scale actually start about a mm from the end of it.

Other Hondas may well use the same hinge.  If you have an older Honda, check the hinge.  You might be able to use one as a pattern.

My older Hondas don't have hinged seats. The bore is 1/4" - loose fit for a 6mm pin. Centre of the bore is 25mm up. There's enough meat on it to grind off a bit if that's too high, or it can be shimmed if it's too low. I'll leave the painting up to you.

PM me your mailing address. I'll mail it today or tomorrow.

That’s pretty cool.  Thanks very much.
