My wife and I went up Island today for lunch at Genoa Bay...had a nice Salmon...

Janice isn't sure about the Passport on the Malahat...lol...yep it's open. Really like that place and love the road coming up to it!

Had an American on a forum a while back try to convince me that there is only one Catalina still flying.

I have a hard time believing that, we fly old crap well past it's expiration date up here in Canada.

Re: the Catalina......Unless my memory is really miss-wired, I recall flying in a PBY when our family relocated to Holberg in 1958.      We landed at Coal Harbour, which was a sea-plane base during WW2, but was being used as a whaling station when we got there.......whales being chain-sawed into pieces, foam on the water bright pink........quite an impression for a six-year-old....

The sea-plane we were in was like a semi-trailer, with a few windows......luxurious....
