When I bought my XS 650 , I got some money came back earlier than he expected on a long weekend.
Pushed it home .7 of a mile, I was pumped.. but the brake was dragging and tires low..
The first part was slight uphill  , when I got to the hump, I finally kicked the caliper enough to reduce the drag.
Took about  4 rests , but I got her home.
And Then I had a much needed beer or two.. tasted damn good.

That was last Thanksgiving I think..  dont let them bikes get away..

It was a bit of a slog but I ain't sniveling... it's always an adventure..

I have had to push a bike afew times, tires or gas usually. . Coming back from Colorado I had a sketchy ten Mile episode of run it go 50 mph and coast. About 2 miles out I flagged a Jeep down, he was going to help but I coasted into the station as he was filling the jug..  I was on fumes and using the choke.
He gave me the gas, wouldn't take anything, so I bought some beer and we shared a few  .  He told me about his 90 year old dad that still rides.  It was fun.....sometimes  you meet very cool people when things go a bit sideways or not to plan.. thats what I like about bike trips.

MJ I have another problem and have had June rescue me with fuel when riding my Norton or pushing it to a nearby gas location.   In their infinite wisdom they have duel petcocks on the tank so if you have both open and run out you are dead out of fuel. The key is to keep one tap closed during regular excursions then if it coughs turn the other one and by the time you can reach it whilst riding you are done.

Thanks MJ sometimes us simpletons need a side of the road education.  The fellas here have been great helping me with the Norton but the fuel was never discussed.  Putting a full new ignition system in the Norton this week and if once done you will never hear of the Norton again

Thanks guys... poor thing has spent way too long collecting dust in my garage since I bought it Nov '17, going to try to make up for that this year.  Cool

Taking a corner somewhere between Shaniko and Antelope Oregon on the Silver Bullet.  I felt like I was dragging a knee - photo doesn't lie. Cheesy  (photo by Trevor  Grin)
