Quiet in here... was Trevor carrying this sub-forum all by himself?  ;)

Oh, the fraudulent collector plate bike. Yes i remember now. Wasn't it a Katana? A 600 or a 750? Popsicle Purple?

We are heading to the island in August, maybe I should consider looking him up that could be interesting.

For your safety, don't mention me.

Maybe it’s time to let it go.

Careful, you might get invited to a sausage party.

Not exactly sure what happened here?

I enjoy "Surf n Turf" parties, but am not opposed to hanging out with a bunch of nice guys on vintage bikes of all kinds for a weekend road trip around Vancouver Island.

I MISS the Gold River Isle of Hamm TT:
crossing the border into the Great White North, riding the Tsawwassen Ferry going to the front of the line, a Thursday evening "safety mtg.",  breakfast at the Malahat Chalet,  a Qualicum Beach photo op, the Campbell River to Gold River ride with another photo op at Strathcona Park and the Elk, a Ridge Roadhouse takeover in Gold River,  breakfast in Campbell River at the Ideal Cafe, spirited ride to Port Hardy with a little side trip to Port Alice or Telegraph Cove, another night of guys BS'ing with motel refreshments, a last breakfast at Port McNeill's Tia's Cafe, an afternoon break at Deez Bar and Grill before Qualicum Beach, and the leisurely ride back to the "States" with another Tsawwassen Ferry ride (love watching the little Islands slide by).

What a great bunch of guys riding a diverse number of vintage and modern machines.  The Canadian Hospitality and learning to use "monopoly $ with toonies and loonies" was always enjoyable.  I am glad that I was invited to join this club of people interested in vintage motorcycles and biking in general.  It has led me to make two trips to Dawson City and some great experiences and memories.

Just wish the Crickets were still chirping.

Also was on a Gold River run, back in 2016.  First time i'd been back on the Island since my parents passed away, in the early 90's. Great ride BUT dropped my bike leaving the Restaurant in Nanaimo or Parksville.  Can't remember which.  Must have hit my helmet.  Girl friend did a lovely Acrobatic dismount, while I flopped like a landed trout.  Young guy hopped out of a Honda Civic to help me get the bike back up.  Heavy Beast, 1990 ST-1100 on Collector plate.  Sold it before the next riding season. Getting OLD and Feeble really sucks. Project bike now is a nice light '81 Suzuki GS-550-T. And the good times continue, sort of.
