This is a song I have on my phone.  He was a weird guy to most of us, but a great song writer and singer.  He reportedly said he met his wife because they were both effing the same man!  Also reported to have had a relationship with Mick Jagger.  He has many hits but this is the one I like most.

This song is the very first one I remember hearing ever as a youngster dragging my teddy bear around the house.  It's a cover by a well known crooner.

Ha....that song is in a minor key, so, to me, always sounds sinister.   Where we used to live, the ice cream truck would use this tune, I'd think it was a front for drug distribution to children...although, the woman who ran the truck was very nice.

Hopefully this brings back some memories of preCovid times where social distancing meant "DO NOT TOUCH"

A grand old song!  I think it was played by the band during the dance scene in Back to the Future.  Or maybe my memory has failed!

Here's a California band that was all over the radio back in the late 60s and 70s. Had a number of hits, with a distinctive sound. I like their music, never bought any of their records, but still have a number of their tunes on my phone. http://HTTP://youth.be/Aae_RHRptRg

I have a lot of Creedence on my phone.  I watched a special of John Fogarty a couple of years ago.  He seemed to really enjoy himself.

This is a white guy who can play the Motown sound with the best of them.  Not his most popular song but a good one nevertheless.

Chet Atkins and Mark Knopfler.  They did an excellent album together.  Short but excellent.

Here’s a live cut from one of my absolute favourite albums.  Mark Knopfler and Emylou Harris, All the Roadrunning.

Some really nice guitar work there....

Ronnie Spector died yesterday.  She was the lead singer in the Ronettes, a girl group from the '60's.  The Beatles were enthralled with the Ronettes' sound and covered a number of their hits.  I remember dancing to this song at high school sock hops.  This is Ronnie herself in probably their biggest hit.

This song comes from the early 60's, another girl group managed by Ronnie Specter's husband Phil.  One of the early hits of my teenage years.

Here is another great female voice from the 1960's.  And another girl group.
