The Who.  Near the end, best scream in rock n roll.

Yes,The Who, fantastic live performance. My first concert, back in 68 was Who, and Small Faces, in Auckland. it was small venue, up close and personal kinda thing. Both bands were great, but I liked the Small Faces back then. 5 years later I see the Who again in London, this time in a stadium setting. Absolutely fantastic. Just like the live video Ross posted. Entwhistle just stands off to the side doing his thing. Moon is manic on drums. Daltrey slings the microphone out over the crowd out front of the stage, just pulling it back in before it drops. Townsend climbs up onto the stack of amps behind him, then jumps off smashing down his guitar. All good stuff. The guy that went on before them was very popular back then too, but the Who made us forget about his show real quick. He was Lou Reed. The drummer that replaced Kieth Moon was Kenny Lane of the Small Faces. They kind of imploded after that 68 tour, disbanded soon after. Too bad, they were a talented group, but couldn’t get along.

This song is from the '70's by a group called Mountain.  Some sweet guitar in it.

Hah, Mountain is a name I recognise from long ago. I roadied for them while they did a series of concerts in Montreal and remember one concert where they hit their first chord in that song to start the show and blew the breaker for power on stage. They had a mountain of amps and they really sucked power so we had to rush around with power chords and find plug-ins all over the auditorium to spread the load. They got back to playing in about 5-10 minutes and it was a damn fine concert.

This song by the Fugs comes from the late '60's.  It used to be our party song.
