Ray Charles....one of the most important musicians of the 20th century.  I have a lot of his music on my phone.  This isn't one of his biggest hits but I think it captures his voice as good as any.

I remember hearing this song parody as a youngster.  It's a great song but it had a neat twist at the 2 minute mark.

I could spend days listening to Beatles tunes.  They are probably the greatest band to ever play, despite a relatively short duration of about 10 years together.  Their music and fashion changed society forever.  Their desire to experiment was a great part of what made them successful.  I remember when Sgt Pepper first came out and thinking how little it sounded like the already familiar rock music of Chuck Berry or Roy Orbison or Cliff Richard, who were all popular back then.  But after over 50 years that album still sounds fresh, and everytime I listen to it I hear things that I've never noticed before.   Would you believe Mick Jagger was part of this song, possibly their greatest?

Here is another version with Rod Stewart and Joe Cocker. (and Tony Bennett)

This guy has been around for a long while.  Great voice!  Great range.  I heard him interviewed on "Q" on CBC a few months ago.  Seems like a real nice guy.  Comes from Bruce Springsteen's home town.  Listen for the key change around 3:35.  Wish I could go that high.

This was a popular song back in the early '70's among the country crowd.  Sung by "The Hag".

Shawn, that was horribly objectifying.  Get with the times, man.  Sheesh!

It was, I'm sorry.

They shouldn't portray men as being that shallow and superficial. There's more to life than sex, drugs and Rock and Roll.

I'll do better next time.

The lead singer sounded like another well known singer but not from AC/DC.  I couldn't quite figure out who.

I've been an Eric Clapton fan since his Cream days.  This is Cream with one of their classic songs.
