Getting close to needing some new rubber on the GS so thought I would pre mount some new tires onto a spare set of rims I have.

Cleaning up the wheels along with some new paint went a long way in making them look more presentable.  Greased up the wheel bearings and now just need to balance them and they'll  be ready to install on the bike.
I always seem to forget what a bitch it is to remove and install tires. Roll Eyes  Anyways, they're ready now. 


Since I'm off work this week, thought I'd get done some of the things I've been putting off.  One of those jobs was to install the wheels with new rubber on the GS750.
Got that done today.  Not too bad of a job, but this incessant and hideous *&^%$#$$ Okanagan heat didn't help matters any. 
I really do dislike this heat with a passion.......but that's another story altogether.
Claudio June suggests we swap houses?

I prefer semi arid...
I woud, rather ride in semi arid, or desert, than rain forest.

June has been looking at places to rent short term so she can ge accustomed to the climate should we decide to move up there

Changed the front wheel bearings yesterday on the Concours and went south to Ok Falls for a test run today.  
Everything up front was fine, but there are now issues with the motor running only 3 cylinders at lower rpm.  Once 3 or 4,000 rpms
are reached, it seems to clear itself out and runs on all 4s.
Guess I'll be looking at this now as well.....

Rough running?   Our gasoline quality these days is suspect.  Try a can or two of Injector/carb cleaner over the next couple tanks full.  Worked on my old '81 CBX when it had similar issues.

I pulled the seat, tank, side covers and pulled the spark plugs.  #1, 2, and 3 look fine, #4 is fouled.  Plug #4 smells like unburnt fuel and is quite dark.  Definitely fouled.  Will investigate a little further.
The plugs only have 4,000 kms or so on them ......so there should be more life in them.  They came uninstalled with the bike when I bought it.  
I prefer the NGK's, but the new ones that came with the bike were Champion equivalents. Undecided
Will check coil wires, caps and get some new plugs.

If the seat assembly is pressed in and has an o ring check them. I had a 88 zx10 years ago. Bought it in in 96 with 12k ! Ran well for a few tanks and then went on a nasty miss miss blubber blubber. Gas weeping etc. Thought it was stuck floats. It ended up the bike had sat for long periods of time and the orings dried out, cracked and when some fresh gas to them they basically disintegrated. Chased my tail on that one for a while. Carbs came off easy on that as they were downdraft and the airbox hid under the tank. Concourse will be more complicated. Try the easy stuff first. Maybe even nip the high tension back a bit with a new cap?
