It's most annoying if it turns out to be a simple thing you could have dealt with roadside...

There are only 4 fuses on this bike and they all are good.
Connecting a car battery I had in the garage to the still installed motorcycle battery on the bike....just used a set of jumper cables....for the connection.
Miraculously, all the lights (dash, headlight, tail light etc) light up like a Christmas tree.  Bike starts with ease.

So the battery seems to be the culprit.  This is a sealed 2 year old battery.  Aren't they supposed to be longer lasting?

Battery. They fail at any time, night or day, at home or on a ride. I have had new ones fail, put it in the vehicle, turn the key and dead. Chinese AGMs are bad these days. Battery.

Another nasty surprise that caught me out once upon a time was a fuse of the old glass type that looked fine.  Not having a meter with me, I just visually checked the fuses.  They all appeared to be OK.  To be on the safe side, I pulled each fuse for a closer look, and on one, the end just fell right off.  No way of seeing or finding that without actually removing it from the holder.  Lesson learned.

For a day that started with rain and likely will end the same the afternoon really shaped up nice,  I too like Shawn could only see it through a window from my office as I had to work also.
