What's a Vintage plate cost relative to a collector plate Shawn?
Do you have to go through the same approval process?

Insurance for the year was:

2 mil 3rd party liability: $97.00
Comprehensive, valued at $10,000: $28.00

Total: $125.00

To be used for exhibitions, parades, club activities, community events, weddings and graduations. Everyday pleasure driving is not permitted.

Coffee is a club activity, so are group rides. If you post that you are going for a ride on the forum, it's a club activity.

It's a little more money than a storage policy but it lets you get the bike out and exercise it so it doesn't rot from sitting.

Rules aren't as strict for how nice the bike has to be. When you insure, they ask you to pick a condition from 1-5. 1 being fully restored and 5 being a non-running heap of parts.

They ask for pictures but the bike doesn't have to be perfect. My Ducati is insured on a vintage plate and is listed as "undergoing restoration" which it is. Parts that need to be repaired or replaced are restored before being put back on.

It's a good compromise that lets you keep the bike insured and lets you use it a bit.

Okay so a few weeks ago June said to me "isnt it time to change the oil in my Honda"   What that really meant was didnt you spend a whole year with the new Harley and the last few months getting the Norton revitalized and back on the road.  So up on the hoist it went a couple of weeks ago and here are a couple pictures from tonight.  A couple more weeks and the oil change should be completed on her Honda.

Looks like Starbucks will be busy this year.  Over 200 bikes by noon and about 50 when I stopped around 3 PM.  I decided to head to Horseshoe Bay and have never seen that many bikes on the Sea to Sky.  Traffic was backed up just North of Lion's Bay so I turned around and came back home.  Photo is of Starbucks with about 50 bikes in front.

Bill funny thing that you mention the volume of bikes on the Sea to Sky today as June and I have commented a couple times that every bike with a plate was on the road to Harrison today.   We actually had to wait for a couple of bikes to leave the pub parking lot so we could park.  We then went inside to a line up of people to be seated, this at 100 in the afternoon.  Fortunately there were just the two of us and there were two empty seats at the bar and I must say the service and food were good.
The ride of course was better and June got in her first ride of the year.

Rob,  if you have a few months please feel free to drop your bike off here for an oil change.  Oh and make sure you dont phone me while I am tightening any of those drain plug bolts or float bowl drain plugs.
I do not offer warranty here okay.

Took the Lemon to work this morning for an oil change.

As I rolled into the gas station I discovered that the linkage from my shifter had fallen off. One of the quick-clips supplied by Tarrozzi had jumped ship on the way to the gas station.

I wandered the station parking lot looking for the clip but no luck. I found a hairpin from a trailer hitch so I jammed that in the hole, filled up and headed back along the same route to see if I could find the clip.

I spotted the clip laying in the road just as a car ran it over. I made a u-turn, pulled over, picked it up, managed to straighten it and jam it back on.

Rode to work and safety-wired the little buggers in place.

Safely at work I changed all her vital fluids and rode home without incident.

I'm trying Redline Shockproof gear oil in the transmission and final drive, we'll see what happens.

God damn header bolts.

One was stripped, that was an easy fix by retapping and going further than the stock tapped hole. Then there was the 2nd one  Angry  busted off in the head. Drilled what I could and tapped with a 6mm . Everything is back together and seems to be holding but only some road testing will tell if it will hold for sure. I' didn't want to take the head off as I'm leaving for a trip in 3 weeks and then there's the issue of $350 for all the gaskets. I hate header bolts.

I keep forgetting thathere is probably no twincam valve cover gaskets for 12 - 30 bux Can..
How much for a head gasket ? I am thinking a Cometic should be under 100 us .
