Title: Top 200 Voices in pop/rock Music
Post by: Steve G. on January 03, 2023, 11:25:53 AM

Released January 1st 2023, Rolling Stone magazines listing of 200 greatest singers of all time in popular music.

  https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-lists/best-singers-all-time-1/

I went through this list, and, can’t figure out what criteria they used, it was all over the place in literal skill of singing , I mostly come completely reject the list.
In my top 10, for ladies, clearly should include Minnie Riperton, and Karen Carpenter. Included in top ten should include both Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers, and Mickey Thomas of Jefferson Starship and Elvin Bishop Band, both of them not even included in top 200.

It’s just another opinion list with no explanation for criteria and even less reason for existing. It has worked wonders media-wise and exposure is through the roof for Rolling Stone. The relevance and even possible consequence on all of us pales in comparison with the objections and offence offered up. It’s like 300% of internet content and twice as likely to be bullS#*t

Ps About Celine, amazing vocal cords but I have always believed she could scream any good song to death. And I am Quebecois!
