Initially BC Ferries did not want to let the old Honda on the 10:45 ferry due to liabilities. One of the two riders was a lawyer and convinced BC Ferries to sign a waiver in order for the bike to get on the ferry. Good times.

Why didn't they want it on?  Because of a flat?

Went for a ride towards Merritt today.  Hoping for maybe some cooler temps and less smoke (fire fog) up top.?

Not much respite.  Pretty smokey from West Kelowna up the Coquihalla with only a little temperature relief.
The smoke was considerably thicker and more pungent as I was descending into Merritt.  From there headed up towards Kamloops on Hwy 5 for about 30 kms, then turned around and retraced my original route back to home base.  No picture taken.

I just did a little loop to Falkland and back today. The smoke is finally getting to me, irritated throat accompanied with some coughing. I look forward to the end of this. Sad

Yep, they were afraid of being sued if the rider were to fall.

Went for a short spin this morning West Kelowna to Apex Mountain Resort just west of Penticton.  Just under a couple hundred kms.
Left about 9 and back at noon before the real heat set in.
Not a classic bike by any stretch, but the more I ride the Concours, the more I like it.  Very sure footed when you dial up some hwy speed and feels like it could go all day without strain.
Pic just past Apex itself.  The background shows some serious ground erosion experienced this spring with snow melt and rain runoff.  How ironic, so much water this spring in the Okanagan, and now we're beyond being parched.  A hideous slow roast! Cry
No motor needed descending from Apex to valley bottom.....15 kms downhill.  I like to think of it as pavement sailing.  Grin
Good times!  Smiley

I like that road,  June and I encountered a bunch of cows up there a couple years ago and were not sure if we should ride through or wait for a charge from them towards our bikes.    June suggested we ring our little bells and toss them some berries and it seemed to work.  Reminds me a lot of Mount Baker coming back down  the road.

Another short ride today.  Went south from West Kelowna down to Kaleden and stopped at one our favorite locations for breakfast.  From there we came back north towards Penticton and veered off slightly to the east and up to Naramata.  Then back home for a 180 km run.
We left around 9 am but temperatures were already starting to climb at that time.  The Kaleden breakfast scene was just ideal....outside garden patio with lots of shade, and cool breeze rustling through the leaves.  Doesn't get much better than this.
On the way back we stopped in Naramata at a town park.  The wind coming off the lake was really quite brisk and provided a nice respite from the hot temperatures experienced while riding.  The faring is terribly efficient on the Connie!  That efficiency will come in handy pretty quick when the fall riding season arrives. Smiley
Good times, once again.

PASSED JETTA90 AT LEAST TWICE TODAY. TOOK THE OLD WRECK THAT I HAVE BEEN STUCK WITH FOR 33 YEARS. WORST CRAP THAT HONDA EVER MADE. NOTHING GOOD ABOUT IT. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING. GOT IT ALL WRONG. MAKE SURE YOU NEVER BUY ONE. IF YOU NEED ME TO TAKE ONE OFF YOUR HANDS - MEAH- I'LL THINK ON IT.

DID 200 KM ROUND TRIP TO OSOYOOS TO CHECK ON A COUPLE BUILDINGS I DESIGNED. ONE NEVER GOT BUILT DUE TO COST. THE OTHER CANNOT BE MISTAKEN FOR ANYTHING BUT MY DESIGN. ONLY MISTAKE WAS THEY TOLD ME THEY HATED IT AND WERE NEVER GOING TO BUILD IT AND - OH YEAH- NEVER PAID ME FOR THE DESIGN.

THAT IS WHY ALL IN CAPITALS. NEEDED TO VENT.
