Those pipes look a tad overheated.  What jets are in your carbs?

The pipes were like that when I got them. The Yoshimura exhaust was given to me. Then I needed to build a bike to put it on. So Roy found the LTD and gave it to me as well. Thus was born the Led Zed.

Currently have 20 pilots and 110 mains, pilot screw (not an air screw) out 1 1/2 turns. Runs a treat.

Collector plate on that bike?

After market signals, the LTD had signals clamped on the bars. KZ bars. Aftermarket seat. KZ rear fender. Non stock black paint. 73 Z1 tank. 78 KZ carbs with pilot screw not air screw. 75 900 head. 76 900 jugs bored to accept 1000 pistons. Chrome bits painted silver. Progressive shocks.

I sort of put it together from bits I had in my garage.

But man, I like it. Goes like a bat out of hell. Looks pretty cool. I really like the way the Z1 tank flows into the sculpted seat. The KZ bars give it just the right look of aggression vs flatter bars.

And I have vintage "Kawasaki"  KZ1000 hard bags for trips.

I thought you had VM28SS carbs with air screws, which is what I have.  I have Z1 air intake and a 4/1 exhaust.  I was running 17.5 pilots with 112.5 mains.  Had issues with barking at lower revs and overheating pipes.  I went to 20 pilots and still had barking issues.   Now up to 22.5 and things are a bit better but it still barks when downshifting.

I've always admired the "flow" of the Z1 painted parts.
