Ford Ranger towing capacity by Rob Ert, on Flickr

That's right from Ford.  I'm not too worried about the fuel economy as we won't be putting to many miles on it when we're not using it for trips etc... I've been looking at the Scamp trailers and they look real nice.

Consider an Escape when it is trailer time. Yes, they are pricey, we bought our 19 and used it for 5 years and when we sold it we got all of our money back, terrific resale value. There are older 17 footers out there for considerably less. Plus, they are made in Chilliwack, support local businesses! Smiley http://escapetrailer.com/trailers/the-17-foot-escape/#trailer-tabs3

Someone here in Victoria responded to his ad telling him thank you as it made my day! And the guy couldn't believe it had made it that far....he said that he really appreciated the response and went on to tell him that in some darker times he had that he would brighten his days by reading funny ads.... and he wanted to do the same thing for someone else.

Here's a nice example but he's got it priced like it's a car lot. Doesn't even have power windows which is weird.

Be careful about published towing capacities......some manufacturers may state capable of towing 10,000lbs, but that includes the mass of the truck.

The 4.0 can tow over 5000 lbs whereas the 3.0 4x2 is less than half that. I had an 01 3.0, the motor is a bit of a dog, but is dead nuts reliable and beat the 4.0 in fuel economy, but then so do most newer full size pickups lol.
